AgriGold victims seek deposit payment by Dec 26

The Agrigold Customers and Agents Welfare Association have demanded that the government solve the problems of the Agrigold victims immediately and pay the deposits by December 26.

The community leaders alleged that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy failed to fulfill his promise to pay the deposits to the depositors.

Agrigold victims staged a protest at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada on Tuesday. The community leaders decided to present the petition to the public representatives on September 15 and 16. Protests near Tahsildar offices on October 31; the agitation will continue until the government resolves the issue of payment of deposits.

Muppalla Nageswara Rao, president of the Agrigold Depositors and Agents Welfare Association, said in the meeting that if Jagan (Jagan) fails to solve the long pending issue, he warned that CM Jagan will suffer the fate of TDP leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

The Agrigold victims will go on a relay hunger strike near the Collectorates of 26 districts across the state from November 28 to 30 and will intensify their agitation if the state government fails to pay the deposits to the depositors. He questioned why the state government is not taking steps to sell the assets of Agrigold.

CPM state leaders CH Baburao, Loksatta leaders B Babji and others spoke on the occasion. The general secretary of the association V. Tirupathi Rao, presidents EV Naidu, deputy general secretary BV Chandrasekhara Rao and others explained the long struggle of the association and the problems of the victims. Earlier, a huge rally was organized from CPI state office to Dharna Chowk.
