The state cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy approved investments of Rs.1.25 lakh crore including Rs.81, 000 crore in green energy projects. The cabinet approved all 57 proposals.
The Cabinet has given approval for the distribution of 5 lakh tabs including 4.72 lakh tabs and another 5 lakh tabs including 50 thousand tabs to the students of 8th standard in government and aided schools for teachers this year.
He said that 3GB tabs costing Rs.16 thousand and Baiju software costing Rs.24 thousand will be distributed to the students for free. He said that students can use the tab up to SSC. The cost of the project is Rs.670 crores.
The Minister said that AP stood first in the country with 11.43 percent GSDP growth along with giving priority to welfare schemes. Venugopalakrishna said that one of the important decisions of the cabinet is to implement YSR for women empowerment on September 22.
4,700 crore will be distributed and 25 lakh women will benefit under this scheme. The meeting approved the consideration of the village secretariat staff and approved the allocation of Rs.20 lakh each to the village and ward secretariats.
He said that under PMAY and YSR Urban Housing, the Cabinet administration has given permission to construct one lakh houses in Visakhapatnam, 96,250 houses in Visakhapatnam and 3,750 houses in Anakapalli.
The minister said that the cabinet has decided to introduce the draft bill related to universities in the assembly. He said the cabinet has decided to increase the reservation for physically challenged from the existing 3 percent to 4 percent by amending the law.
85 additional staff will be appointed in the Secretariat. The cabinet approved two PHCs in each mandal. Municipal school teachers will be brought under the school education department.
The Minister said that the Cabinet has given its approval to provide bank guarantee for Amaravati Phase-1 infrastructure works and to increase the scope of Bhavanapadu port. It has decided to release 20 prisoners under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in addition to the 175 prisoners who were released earlier.
The Cabinet approved the formation of permanent Lok Adalats in five districts. Venugopalakrishna said that the Cabinet has decided to allocate lands for various development works in the state.
