With the Assembly finalizing the date for the monsoon sessions, the state cabinet meeting on Wednesday has assumed priority.
The government has proposed to bring a Bill on Employees' Pension Scheme and an amended Bill on the issue of three capitals. Assembly meetings are likely to be held from September 19 to 24.
The Committee of Ministers, which discussed the issue of Central Pension Scheme with the employee’s union leaders, decided to meet again after the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
It is said that the state cabinet is keen to implement the guaranteed pension scheme and the cabinet will take approval. The Committee of Ministers asked the employees' association to agree to the Guaranteed Pension Scheme instead of insisting on the old pension scheme.
The employees are demanding that the old pension system be implemented and all the cases filed against them should be withdrawn on the occasion of the Chief Minister's home siege program on September 1.
Now it remains to be seen whether they will accept the new pension scheme proposed by the government if the cases against them are dropped or they will continue their protest for the old pension scheme. The issue is likely to be clarified after the cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday.
