N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of AP issued immediate orders to tackle the growing problem of garbage accumulation in the state, aiming to clear an estimation 8.3 million metric tons of waste by June next year. This backlog, attributed to a garbage tax levied by the previous administration, has led to colossal waste buildup. Naidu stressed the need for rapid and comprehensive action, urging officials to address the issue on a ‘war footing’.
