Home Minister Thaneti Vanitha along with DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy formally inaugurated the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) at Police Training College (PTC) premises here on Sunday.
Speaking on this occasion, the Home Minister said that RFSL will help in the speedy investigation of cases. She said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is giving full support to the police department in reforms and modernization of the police department.
Zero FIR concepts have been introduced to provide instant justice to the people. The Home Minister praised the services rendered by the police force to the people with commitment. She praised the sacrifices made by the police in performing their duties.
The concept of friendly policing has been introduced in all police stations and reception centers have been opened to make police station visitors feel at home. She said that even though the Disha Act was not in force, all the features of the Act were in force and the spirit of the Act was being implemented by the police stations.
DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy said that RFSL will be a boon for speedy investigation and justice. The state's forensic laboratories have the capacity to handle 13,000 samples and send reports back to police stations.
Labs play a vital role in criminal investigation. About 12 scientific officers will work in the lab at PTC. Another lab will be opened in Rajamahendravaram. On this occasion, Minister of Women and Child Welfare Ushasree Charan spoke.
Government Whips K Ramachandra Reddy, ZP Chairperson Boya Girijamma and other public representatives participated. Anantapur Range DIG Raviprakash and SP Fakirappa participated.
