CM promises to make education affordable for all

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the state government has introduced the Jagananna Vidya Diwena program with the intention of providing accessible education to all sections, especially the economically backward sections.

He said that every house should produce a doctor and an engineer; it is possible only when quality education is provided to IAS officer and youth.

He said the gross enrollment ratio in educational institutions was 8.64 percent in 2019-20 against the national average of 3.04 percent. He said that the gross enrollment of girls, which was 2.28 percent at the national level, has increased to 11.03 percent in the state.

In a meeting held after depositing Rs.694 crore fee reimbursements to the beneficiaries from April to June in Bapatla on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that the gross enrollment ratio of SC students at the national level has increased to 7.5 percent and the number of ST students has increased to 9.5 percent. 4.7 percent in 2019-20.

According to data released by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the gross enrollment ratio in primary education during the TDP regime was 84.48 per cent in AP against the national average of 99 per cent, the Chief Minister said.

He said that the growth rate of debt was 19 percent during the TDP regime and now the growth rate of debt is only 15 percent. He said that while YSR Congress Party is implementing many welfare schemes, the TDP government has failed to implement them.

The chief minister alleged that during the TDP regime, only a few selected people were benefited.
