CWG 2022: Panghal, Thapa, 6 others earned a place in the Indian team

Five-time Asian Championship medalist Shiva Thapa and Amit Panghal, along with six other pugilists, secured their place in the Indian men's boxing team for the 2022 Commonwealth Games after registering victories in the trials finals held at the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports here on Thursday.

Veteran boxer Thapa defeated 2018 CWG silver medalist Manish Kaushik 5-0 in the 63.5kg category while 2019 World Championship silver medalist Panghal defeated Services boxer Deepak 4-1 in the 51kg category. Position at the Quarterly Event.
