Delhi in grip of cold wave as minimum temperature dips to season’s lowest of 4.9 degree Celsius

The minimum temperature in Delhi dipped to the season’s lowest on Wednesday at 4.9 degree Celsius in Safdarjung station. This is the same as last year’s lowest minimum temperature for the month.

         

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) defines a ‘cold wave’ as a minimum temperature less than or equal to 10 degree Celsius for plains when the temperature deviation is 4.5 to 6.4 degree Celsius.
