Dr P Krishna Prashanthi, a senior physician from Tirupati has been elected as the Chairperson of AP Chapter of Association of Physicians of India (AP API) for the year 2022-23. For the first time, a woman doctor was elected as the chairperson of the association.
Dr. KSR Swamy from Kakinada was elected as Secretary and Dr. CSS Sharma from Kakinada as Treasurer in the 49th Annual Conference of the Association which is currently going on. Dr. K Ram Babu from Visakhapatnam will be elected as the Chairman for the next year while Dr. IV Rao from Kakinada will be the Chief Patron. Dr T Muneeswar Reddy from Tirupati was selected as one of the three vice-chairmen.
Dr. Prashanthi has been serving patients as a doctor for the last 25 years and she is a family doctor for many patients. She organizes health camps and awareness programs for the benefit of people.
During the covid pandemic she worked in coordination with the official machinery of the districts in strengthening the covid centers across the district. She has served API in various capacities for the past 20 years.
On this occasion, she thanked Dr. Eve Rao, Dr. Mbar Sharma and Dr. Alladi Mohan who took charge as API Chairperson.
