State Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan inaugurated the distribution of free hearing aids to the hearing-impaired people belonging to disadvantaged communities at a function held at the Siddhartha Auditorium here on Sunday.
Deen Dayal Shravana Foundation organized the event to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, a prominent leader in Indian political history and co-founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Harichandan said that Pandit Deenadayal Upadhyay advocated the theory of 'integral humanism' and cultural-nationalist values, and he strongly followed Gandhian socialist theories like 'Sarvodaya' and 'Swadeshi'. .'
Pandit Deenadayal said it was important to develop a human-centric indigenous economic model unlike Upadhyay socialism and capitalism.
Hearing loss is the most common sensory impairment among humans today, he said, and according to World Health Organization estimates, about 63 million Indians suffer from significant hearing loss.
He said age-related hearing loss occurs gradually and is one of the most common conditions affecting the elderly, and early detection and treatment can reduce the damage. I am very happy to know that Deen Dayal Shravan Foundation has started distribution of free hearing aids with the main objective of helping the hearing impaired to overcome their handicap.
He said that hearing is one of the most valuable senses for human beings and hearing loss can be treated if detected at an early age. Governor Harichandan appreciated the services provided by Deen Dayal Hearing Foundation by distributing free hearing aids to the hearing impaired people in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.
