Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan will inaugurate the Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti celebrations-cum-exhibition at various stalls set up to reflect Gandhi's ideas on sustainable development in Vijayawada in October. Representatives of the 'Gandhi Global Family' invited the Governor here on Thursday to inaugurate the exhibition together.
Gandhian literature, village handicrafts, Ayurveda and naturopathy, millets, organic farming, water harvesting, soil conservation, earth-friendly utensils made from clay, cotton, jute, handlooms will be on display.
Chairman Dr. Gunna Rajender Reddy, Chief Advisor Gona Reddy and member P.Giridhar of Gandhi Global Family presented Gandhi literature, handwoven shawl and bags to the Governor and explained the programs being done to spread Gandhian ideology in two Telugu states since 2018.
As part of Gandhi Jayanti, a week-long festival will be organized from September 26 to October 2 at the NTR Stadium in Hyderabad.
He said that to achieve sustainable and comprehensive development without any damage to nature, to live in harmony with nature and other living beings and to protect the earth and all living beings, there is a need to work together.
