India won the U-19 World Cup for record extending fifth time, beating England by 4 wickets at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on February 6, 2022. Batting first, England could score only 189 in 47.4 overs, all spoils accounted for by India’s seam bowlers. Chasing 190, India did face some tense moments before laying their hands on the prestigious trophy with his 5-wicket haul and a composed 35 runs, Raj Bawa won the Player of the Match award. He also had the best ever bowling figures of 5/31 in the under-19 World Cup.With most runs at 506, South Africa Dewald Brewis won the Player of the Tournament award. Indian skipper Yash Dhull joined Mohammad Kaif, Virat Kohli, Unmukt Chand and Prithvi Shaw on the list of Indian captains to win Under-19 ICC World Cup.
