Questioning whether the Raj Bhavan has become an untouchable for the state government, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan alleged that his office has long been subject to humiliation and discrimination.
She declared that no one can hide the facts that a woman governor has been discriminated against for three years in the history of Telangana.
Speaking to the media after releasing a book about her efforts on the occasion of completing three years as the first citizen of the state; At the Raj Bhavan on Thursday, “It has become a curse for women coming into politics to be humiliated on social media and elsewhere.
I faced such situations while growing up as a politician. I was never sad because no one could break my resolve or my commitment to people. But discrimination against my office or any other office after 75 years of independence is not acceptable," she said.
She recalls how she was not allowed to hoist the national flag on the parade grounds on Republic Day, how the governor's speech at the start of the budget session was skipped, how protocol was not strictly followed in receiving her. People should know and judge whether it is right not to give those opportunities to the Governor.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan recalled that the state government did not say yes or no till the last minute to his request for a helicopter to visit the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma fair, leaving him with no option but to travel for eight hours.
