Krishna District Collector Ranjith Basha has directed the officials to complete the construction work of Machilipatnam Medical College by next June.
He discussed the progress of the work with the concerned officials in his chamber here on Tuesday. Addressing the officials, the Collector said that the college is being constructed at a cost of Rs.550 crores, while the central government's share is Rs.196 crores.
He directed to complete the civil construction works of the college as soon as possible. The administrative block, lecturer hall and other seven complex structures should be completed by next June.
The Collector stated that the government has already released Rs.5 crore for the necessary changes in the OPD block, diagnostic block and hospital services block of the district hospital and other works will be done with these funds.
Ranjit Basha said that about 2 lakh liters of drinking water is required for the medical college and he directed to make an action plan for the construction of new water storage.
APMSIDC SE Ankamma Chaudhary, EE Lingaiah Naidu, RDO I Kishore, Medical College Principal (newly appointed) Dr. K Vijaya Kumari and others participated in the meeting.
