Sulking JD (U) says it won’t join the Centre

By Our Special Correspondent

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar skipped the NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi for the second time in a row, leaving his party in disarray as the vacancy created by the resignation of former member RCP Singh did not join the Union Cabinet.

JD (U) national chief Rajiv Ranjan Singh AK Lalan Singh said that his party will stick to its 2019 stand in this regard. But he said that JD (U) will continue as a part of NDA. Nitish announced that he will stay away from the Union Cabinet in 2019. "We still stand by our previous stand," he said.

He accused RCP Singh of unilaterally reversing it in 2021 when he was the party's national chief. "Nitish Kumar could not react to his (RCP) decision due to obvious reasons," Lalan claimed.

Lalan also lashed out at the state BJP saying that there is a conspiracy to weaken Nitish. He alleged that the second Chirag Paswan model is being made like that. Paswan fielded his party's candidates against the JD (U) in the assembly elections, which resulted in the JD (U) losing nearly 20 assembly seats.
