Ding Liren is falling behind on the clock once against despite playing with white pieces in game 12 against Gukesh at the World Chess Championship. Ding opted for a English Opening. He has used up an hour for just 12 moves.
After his defeat on Sunday in Game 11, Ding Liren needs to play for a win today. This will be in sharp contrast to the rest of the world championship, where Ding has largely been content to play for draws. Gukesh now is three games away from becoming the 18th world champion.
